Shisher Sam
Age 15, Bangladesh.

 My parents said to me,
“Time is free, you can’t own it.
But you can use it. You can’t
keep it , but you can spend it.”

Bangladesh is a country in South Asia and is bordered by India to West, North and East, Burma to its Southeast and separated from Nepal and Bhutan. To it’s South it faces the Bay of Bengal. Bangladesh is the world’s eighth-most populous country, with over 160 million people. The neighbouring Indian states of West Bengal and Tripura. Before 1971 Bangladesh was not a country, they were with Pakistan and India. When Pakistan government said, everybody should  have to talk in Urdu, many people want to defence them because if anybody don’t want to talk in Urdu Pakistani force will killed us.  Bangladesh  got their independence from Pakistan on 16 December 1971 and became a country.
My name is Shisher Sam. I was born on December 11, 2000 in Comilla, Bangladesh. In Comilla there are many villages. It has many different people from different cities. When I was 8 years old, we  moved to Dhaka for studied  in a good school. In Bangladesh, the teachers were very strict. They punished us the same way as our parents did to us at home. If we came to school late, we have to stand outside for one hour. If we didn’t pay attention to the teacher, they took a stick and beat us, or they took a ruler and  smacked our hands. Sometimes if we don’t do our homeworks or talk during classes they pulled our ears and  they also made us sit without a chair. Is really painful when we are not prepared for school.
When I was in 6th grade I didn’t liked to study . I liked to waste my time by played sports with my friends and played games in my phone. When my mom came to visit us she saw that I didn’t liked school then she told  me , “Time is free, you can’t own it, but you can use it. You can’t keep it, but you can spend it, so you have use time in right time.” Then I learned that time is so important for everyone.
In Comilla, I lived private house with my grandparents and my aunt. Our home had 5 bedroom, two bathroom, one kitchen. In Comilla the location is easy to find out then in here. If you just tell the address of can find out easily.
One day  when I was playing in a park my father told me we are going to move United State. I was thinking he is not serious he is joking . Then I recognize he was not joking, we are really move to United State. I was so happy because I will going to move a new country, but I was so sad too because I left my country and my family.
After few weeks me and my family went immigration office for our passport. First time when we got there we still need some important paper, that we don’t have. When we got the paper we went there again.  Then we got our passport. After two weeks, I said all of my friends and family bye. I was scared when I took my first ride in airplane. I’d never been on an airplane, so I didn’t know what to expect.
In our country my father worked in our on store. He was so happy that we are moving to United State. Sometimes he worried about my grandparents because they are old. In this country, he works to hard. He doesn’t speak english. Sometimes it is difficult for him to understand english. My mom can speak english and bangla both of them, and sometimes she speak english with us at home. In our home my family speak in Bengali.
When I was new in this country I feel lonely and bored at home. I couldn't  speak English and I didn't have any friend, so I couldn't go outside by myself and even though I went outside I feel an outsiders.  After three weeks I went a middle school called Ditmas I.S. 62 and the school is near to my house. I study there and I met many friends. They was so helpful. I know that I have to work hard then  I can get a good job in future. My parents always said,  “you always have to  work hard so you will get a good result in future.”
After graduation in middle school, I came  to this school International high school at lafayette. I work hard in school and I always doing  my homeworks. I have lot of friends in this school. After living here 1 year I didn’t feel lonely anymore. Sometimes in the weekend me and my friends meet together in a park.
